Pinakin Studio
One of India’s oldest brands for residential luxury furniture, PINAKIN STUDIO has championed the aesthetic of India Modern over its 45 years of existence. After making a splash in Mumbai, the brand moved its store to Alibaug, also called the ‘Hamptons of Mumbai’.
The flagship store in Alibaug is spread across 5,000 square feet, offering visitors a large selection of furniture pieces to choose from. For those who can’t make it here, PINAKIN STUDIO also has an online store. Come 2023, and the brand will extend itself to a pan India audience through distribution and franchise models. The first two cities in its portfolio are Delhi and Bengaluru.
About Pinakin
A self-taught product designer, architect and interior designer, Pinakin is the founder of his eponymous studio. He is also one of India’s most celebrated multidisciplinary designers. Apart from championing several causes, Pinakin also has a deep understanding of Indian philosophy. He has worked in association with the National Gallery of Modern Art and The CSMVS in Mumbai. In 2008, Pinakin established a museum for his guru Padmabhushan Dashrath Patel.
In 2016, he became the Founder and Director of the Kolkata Centre for Creativity patronized by the Emami Group. He is currently working on a new art platform called COLLECT that will put several expressions of art and design under one roof for fresh collectors.
The Inspiration
Human body language is our main source of inspiration. From a deep soft ‘loungey’ sofa for chilling in, to a hard shallow sofa to easily get in and out, we see two distinctive scales, arms, feelings. These are artistically translated into eye catching forms.

Our Store
We are located in Alibag, an hours scenic boat ride from Mumbai. We have an 8000 sq ft sustainable with natural light and ventilation. Here you will find almost a hundred different pieces of furniture to touch feel and test for comfort. There is a material library where you can browse options not displayed on the shop floor. This enables you to customize the furniture to your requirements. Our sales team spends equal time on the factory floor and showroom so they are equipped with sufficient practical knowledge to enable a meaningful conversation with you. There are about 90% of stock is available at store to experience.
